   About METI
The Maritime Environmental Training Institute (METI) opened in 1998 and is a Private Career College located in Sydney, Nova Scotia. METI offers top quality environmental and safety training courses and is registered with the Nova Scotia Department of Education and is an active and proud member of the Private Colleges Association of Canada. Recognizing the increased importance of Environmental and Safety Training in today’s workplace, METI has worked over the past number of years with renowned experts in the Environmental and Safety fields including Laborers International Union of North America, United States Environmental Protection Agency, and Environment Canada.
In addition, METI is associated with Enform, a Petroleum Industry leader in the field of Training and Safety. METI is also a third party trainer with the Alberta Construction Safety Association as well as a recognized Service Provider for the Oil Sands Safety Association. METI’s students range from individuals receiving career training to experienced workers upgrading or acquiring new skills.
In August 2009 Maritime Environmental Training Institute purchased Hatscan Online. METI online is known to be one of Canada’s Best Online Training Systems with over 500 businesses and 11,000 active users currently on our system. We have added some innovative features to the online courses and now offer online administrative control for supervisors and office managers.
