The Maritime Environmental Training Institute (METI) opened in 1998 and is a Private Career College located in Sydney, Nova Scotia. METI offers top quality environmental and safety training courses and is registered with the Nova Scotia Department of Education and is an active and proud member of the National Association of Career Colleges.

Recognizing the increased importance of Environmental and Safety Training in today’s workplace, METI has worked over the past number of years with renowned experts in the Environmental and Safety fields including Laborers International Union of North America, United States Environmental Protection Agency, and Environment Canada.

In addition, METI is associated with Enform, a Petroleum Industry leader in the field of Training and Safety. METI is also a third party trainer with the Alberta Construction Safety Association, a recognized Service Provider for the Oil Sands Safety Association and a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors. Our students range from individuals receiving career training to experienced workers upgrading or acquiring new skills.

In August 2009 Maritime Environmental Training Institute purchased Hatscan Online. Since then METI Online has developed into Canada’s Best Online Training Experience with over 500 businesses and over 22000 active users taking advantage of our system.

Our online system continues to give supervisors and managers control over their training and records with our Administration Control feature. Continued development and enhancement are top priorities for METI, and we continue to do this to provide the best training experience to our students and clients.
