Fleet vehicles are groups of motor vehicles owned or leased by a business, government agency or other organization rather than by an individual or family.
Typical examples are vehicles operated by car rental companies, taxicab companies, public utilities, public bus companies, and police departments.
Fleet Vehicle Safety Training is intended to reinforce the knowledge and skills that drivers of fleet vehicles possess, and on which they base their professional driving attitude and behaviors.
Erosion & Sediment Control Training
When someone wants to interact with a watercourse, such as install a crossing, withdrawal water, or add erosion protection, they must follow the rules set in the Activity Designation Regulations and the Nova Scotia Watercourse Alterations Standard.
By taking our Erosion & Sediment Control Training, you will take away principles that lead to sustaining our surface water supply, which in turn supports economic development, sustains health of humans and aquatic ecosystems, protects the environment, and sustains a high quality of life for Nova Scotians.

It was a pleasure for our CEO, Joe Pembroke to represent METI at the CBRH Pediatric Unit.
Earlier in December, we reached out to the great folks at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation to ask what the children and their families would enjoy in the Family Room this Christmas.
As it turns out, the kids wanted a Nintendo Switch system. Seen here is Joe gifting the kids with their new Switch console and accessories.
Each year, more than 1,800 children are treated at the Regional Hospital’s Pediatrics Unit. Children up to 18 years old are treated for everything from broken bones to serious illnesses, like cancer.
All of us at METI are very proud to support the CBRHF, the Pediatric Staff, the kids, and their families.
Merry Christmas to all the staff and families from us at METI!
Carla did a great job leading the Sulzer Christmas Party at the Holiday Inn in Sydney.
This event marks METI’s and Sulzer’s tenth year working together.
It’s amazing that the Sulzer team travels from Edmonton every year to host this gathering. It’s a special feeling for our staff to see so many METI graduates happy and successful.
We would like to thank the team from Sulzer for providing so many opportunities for our graduates.
2023 is scheduled to be a very busy year, and we look forward to working together on the recruitment drive this spring.
If you would like to be prepared for the 2023 busy shutdown season, please read over the information on our Safety Certified Labourer Program.
In six weeks, you will receive 26 sought after certifications from combined skills instruction and hands-on training.
METI’s Safety Certified Labourer program was developed to meet the job requirement across many industries here in Nova Scotia, Central and Western Canada or across the country.
METI welcomes our newest addition; the 2016 International (Automatic Transmission) pictured below.
Are You Ready to Train?
We will now have the option to train on both automatic and manual vehicles. So, are you ready to train to be a professional truck driver? We would like the opportunity to speak with you about it.
METI also offers Fleet Safety Training and Driver Assessments to local business. Fleet vehicles are groups of motor vehicles owned or leased by a business, government agency or other organization rather than by an individual. This training is intended to reinforce the knowledge and skills that drivers of fleet vehicles possess, and on which they base their professional driving attitude and behaviors.
All of us at METI were glad to see our winners enjoyed their time in Toronto!
With this promotion being such a success, we already have some great ideas and are really looking forward to our next one.
“It was a great couple of games that we caught. Seats were great and the weather did cooperate, so the roof was open today. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend!”
Representatives from Irving Shipyard asked us to help fill positions for 25 industrial painters and 25 labourers. It is for full-time, permanent work as well.
