METI offers the North American-wide recognized SAIA Scaffold & Access Industry Association Industrial Scaffold Apprenticeship Training Program.

SAIA First Year Scaffold Erector Course and Exam

This module is designed for scaffolders with 1600 hours of scaffolding experience and covers basic tools, hoisting and rigging, scaffolding math, and industry regulations and safety. It introduces students to the fundamentals of Frame Scaffolds, Tube and Clamp Scaffolds, and System Scaffolds. The major focus of this class is to heighten the student’s safety knowledge of materials and codes within your region.

SAIA Second Year Scaffold Erector Course and Exam
PREREQUISITE: COMPLETION OF LEVEL 1

This module is designed for scaffolders with 3200 hours of scaffolding experience and instructs a student to build more advanced scaffolds. Theory includes proper and safe work practices and basic blueprinting scaffolds. The practical is based upon independent structure scaffolds including tower with buttresses, tower with cantilevers, area scaffolds, and scaffold runs.

SAIA Third Year  (Journeyperson) Scaffold Erector Course and Exam
PREREQUISITE: COMPLETION OF LEVELS 1 AND 2

This module is designed for scaffolders with 4800 hours of scaffolding experience. It covers advanced theory including weight load math, advanced blue printing, and take-off techniques. The practical includes a blueprinted scaffold, including hangers and cantilevers. Professional Scaffold Erector status is achieved upon completion of Third Year level.

Note: Fees are dependent upon each particular course SAIA 2nd Year Scaffold Exam (3200 hours required) May 13-14.  Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. It is mandatory to have a study binder for the exam level you are challenging.  Study binders can be purchased from METI office for $125.00 each.
