METI’s Class 1 Driver – Tractor Trailer classes go beyond the industry standards. This means you graduate job-ready with more than just a license. Have the skills, hours behind the wheel and safety training needed to work here in Nova Scotia or across Canada.

The trucking industry is a stable and growing sector that is in the need of qualified Class 1 Operators. It’s about transporting goods and services to supply to your family, friends, neighbours, community and your country.

According to reports by Trucking HR Canada, Canada will have a shortage of 25,000 truck drivers by 2023. 61% of trucking jobs in Canada reportedly went unfilled in 2019 and it is expected to increase by 25% by 2023.

There is no better time to start a career as a Class 1 Driver.

“When I need tractor-trailer or tandem truck drivers I look to METI to fill the void.”
Joe Parsons, Owner Joe Parsons Construction, Sydney, NS.

METI’s Class 1 Driver – Tractor Trailer Program prepares you to become a professional driver by following and exceeding the standard for Tractor Trailer Training criteria set by the Trucking Human Resource Sector Council (THRSC) and industry.
